What's informative and can be bad or good? The news! This past week in class, the students in 8B wrote a rap about recent news stories like the upcoming elections, greenhouse gas emissions, and the US tariffs. They were also assigned key words to use to make writing lyrics a bit more difficult. Whether it teaches you something new or makes you wanna dance, this rap is definitely the coolest out there! 😎
The economic challenges are rising like a mountain.
Prices are doubling, keeping people counting.
Poilievre's Conservatives found a dip in their support.
In the next election, his party may fall short.
Emissions come from factories.
Only way to stop them is to plant more trees.
The world's not gonna die, I'm being sarcastic.
We got a huge problem, we got to be realistic.
And pick up that microplastic.
With a future like this, there's so much uncertainty.
If we care for our work, this will work out perfectly.
The Earth is going to dip like the economy, this is a trend yo.
If I had to predict if this will go well, I'd say NO!
Keep our Earth clean and don't let it go!

This is honestly such a strong and real piece. I love how you took serious topics like the economy and the environment and made them feel personal and relatable. The sarcasm adds such a cool, human touch—it’s like you're venting, but also trying to wake people up. The flow is smooth, and the message is powerful without being preachy.

ReplyDeleteThis was an awesome rap where you not only had lots of good information and got your point across you also added some humor which was a very cool addition to the rap that made it feel more engaging. It was a very good rap that had a lot of everything from information to humor to rhyming even.
ReplyDeleteI personally loved this! Not only is it catchy and fun, but it's also creative. It's a smart way to get people learning more about world issues and I find that inspiring. I also liked that you went into detail about the topics and issues.The only problem is that to me, I wish you added and connected more to each other and how we should help. If this rap was to persuade us clean our Earth, then I believe there should've been something like, "If we work together, then the more our earth will grow!" By the way, this is a suggestion and you don't have to take it. I believe with more lines persuading us to clean our earth more, than it will be much more effective. Overall, very well done!!
